Biotifull Place to Work Challenge

The “Biotifull Place to Work” challenge is an opportunity for Audencia employees to become actors for change by proposing and executing a project on:

• Improving the quality of life at work;

• The environmental impact of our campuses.

The objective is for the Audencia teams to submit a concrete, impactful, easy-to-implement project to the Human Resources Department and the Head of Stakeholder Engagement and to see it through to completion.

The projects were proposed during the Innovation Forum (Forum de l’Innovation) and presented as a pitch in front of a jury comprised of Audencia CSR representatives and external committed stakeholders.

The winning team received a budget of €5,000 and assistance from the Head of Stakeholder Engagement to develop and implement its project.

For this inaugural event, the prize was awarded to the project called “Beehives on the Roof of Audencia” (“Des ruches sur le toit d’Audencia”).

The award for the jury’s favourite (le prix coup de cœur du jury) was given to the project called “Don’t Take Me, Reuse Me” in which the objective is to implement a deposit system to eliminate the use of plastic cups on our campuses.

This challenge is an excellent way to demonstrate that anyone can make a contribution to a more responsible world as well as to showcase the commitment of the employee volunteers to helping advance the CSR approach.

#StopPollutionPlastique project

In September 2019, Audencia committed itself alongside its long-time partner WWF France to eliminating the use of unnecessary plastics on its campuses.

Since then, many actions have been carried out starting with the installation of filtered water fountains directly connected to the water utility service and the distribution of 1,086 stainless steel bottles to all employees and some of the students. Our goal is to make the use of reusable bottles more widespread and to promote the idea that anyone can make a difference in preserving the planet through small gestures.

Meanwhile, actions have been carried out in our canteens, the social hub on our campuses, including the elimination of the use of straws, stirrers and single-use cutlery. Currently, single-use plastics have been replaced with reusable bamboo. However, the actions do not stop there. The canteen staff, who are behind the “Don’t Take Me, Reuse Me” project and the recipients of the Biotifull Place to Work challenge award for the jury’s favourite (le prix coup de cœur du jury), want to go even further by implementing a deposit system for reusable cups to eliminate all the cups that may be circulating on campus. They also want to add water fountains for meeting rooms and events. In April 2020, an awareness raising conference open to all internal stakeholders will be held to share the positive results of these actions and raise awareness of this global issue in order to create a more responsible world.
